It was 2Pac’s birthday yesterday and he would have been 49 years old. Next year is the big 5-0 and while Pac isn’t here, his soul lives in a lot of us and his music is still bumping out of our speakers. We all know Tupac’s greatest hits and can recite them word for word with our friends for the rest of our lives. But do you guys know a lot of the deep cuts? Do you know the bootleg Makaveli bangers that never officially got released? This is a dedication to some of my favorite Pac songs that are slept on by the masses. I remember driving down to Fam Mart aka Fam Bam on Euclid in Oak Park (San Diego, CA) with the homies to buy bootlegs from the sketchy music shops. I didn’t care where the little stores got their music from because I just needed it in my whip!
To the OG Pac fans, these songs won’t be new but if you have faves that I missed, drop them in my comments. There are so many Pac songs out there that I still probably haven’t heard!
Alright, let’s get into it on some Pac songs that aren’t on the streaming platforms… And if they are, they are not the OG versions so I had to lace you with the original recordings.
“Teardrops & Closed Caskets” Feat. Nate Dogg and The Outlawz
“Late Night” with DJ Quik and AMG
“Still I Rise aka ‘96 Big Body Sitting on Chrome”
“Grab the Mic”
“Confessions” Feat. Bizzy Bone
“Life’s So Hard”
“When We Ride on Our Enemies”
“Secretz of War” Feat. The Outlawz
“Letter to My Unborn”
“Ghetto Star” Feat. Bad Azz
