Been bumpin a lot of Mac Miller lately. It’s only natural I go to his Faces mixtape because it’s my favorite work of art from Malcolm. Mac was just somebody who blurred the lines of what a white emcee is. I never looked at Mac as a white rapper. I looked at him as a creative dude who always had something to say. The lighthearted approach to everything is so underserved in the rap culture and that’s why he was a breath of fresh air. Here’s “Here We Go” which you need to bump on repeat today.
I was lucky enough to catch Mac live on the GO:OD AM tour. He was amazing on stage and kept crowds entertained everywhere he touched down. Here’s the same track “Here We Go” from his performance at Red Rocks from 2014.
Love that Mac did it all without a Drake or a Jay feature. But let’s not forget that he got some amazing features on his projects. Ones you didn’t expect like Mike Jones.
The first time I even heard a Future verse was because of Mac.
Mac and Killa Cam???
Mac and Migos over an ALC beat? Migos with ALC?!??!
Mac and Rick Ross was nice. Found it weird when Rick Ross recycled the same sample from the Mac song but oh well… Who am I anyway?
Mac and Prodigy was something….
Mac and Sean P tho?????
Mac and Big Sean over some Doom melodies?
Mac with Murs and 9th?
Mac Miller and Young Thug????
I could honestly go on and on…. Mac had the energy of Pac and the personality of a pro skater from the 90’s. RIP Mac… We love you.
