Well, well, well… what do we have here? New Ghost and Kanye???? Oh wait… It dropped a few weeks ago yet for some strange reason the marketing roll out didn’t hit me until 3 weeks after the drop. That doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a huge Ghostface fan yet I never saw a banner for him on his album drop? Why tho?? Ohhhhhhhh… It’s basically payola going on in the DSP’s. There’s no margin on the streams so now you gotta lean on advertising from labels with bigger budget. Sooooo… the actual music that I used to be fed in my algorithms have changed. Ads are now driving placement and the music is no longer the driving pulse.
Looks like my whole day has changed its course for me. I didn’t even know Ghost was cooking with Kanye. And this song is the perfect single to get me hyped on the project. Ghost and Kanye working together haven’t let me down yet. How about this one from years ago?
Oh shit… Ghost dropped on Mass Appeal Records too? Nas and Ghost? They got me going back to OB4CL and bumpin “Verbal Intercourse” all over again. One of the best hip hop tracks ever made.
Ghost has been murdering tracks for a long time. A longggggggg time. To see him persevere in a game that isn’t built for longevity is really cool. When I think of Ghost, I think of him in a gangster ass robe like something Nature Boy Ric Flair would wear. Songs like “Stay” age like fine wine. Look at those hynas just sitting on flowers for like 50 yards… That’s gangster shit right there.
And Ghost has heaters for days that’ll never hit that Spotify generated playlist batch that they force down your eyes and thumbs. DSP generated playlists have fallen off and it’s now analog’s time to shine. People need to hear the OG versions of tracks from legends. Ghost rapping over Doom on “Charlie Brown” is one of the nicest tracks made the last 33 years.
I haven’t even shown a real video of Ghost’s yet and the article is already full of heat rocks. Ghost is probably the smoothest in the game. Dude is mighty healthy in all aspects of the rap game.
Tony Starks was out here making beautiful tracks with impeccable storytelling. He had a rough upbringing but he was the rose that grew from concrete out of Staten Island. He was a breath of fresh air in the rap game time and time again with his hard work and hustle. I know Ghost more than most rappers because his stories keep me immersed and the voice and hustle stay strong.
Have you ever read the lyrics for “Nutmeg” tho? Wow…. I still feel that RZA is an alien and he dropped down on this track from outer space. Those sounds??? This song is a top 10 hip hop track of all time. The beat… the bars… the flow… E V E R Y T H I N G .
There was for sure an entire album with Doom x Ghost right? They had a song that would drop here and there but then samples wouldn’t get cleared and these tracks would evaporate into thin air only to be access by real hip heads from back in the day. Kids aren’t knowing about this right?
I had never seen this one… this is dope. maybe one day somebody will get access to DOOM’s files so we can get the tracks. Feel like they are hidden gems.
Ghost will just pop up on a track and murk you sometimes though. He keeps that doo-rag over the face and is ready to be a sniper when the tracks needs it. How about that Elzhi verse though?!?!?!??
Ghost on this tho???????????????????????????????????????
How hard is this?
Ghost is one of the rap goats that you’ve probably slept on since the 2000’s… Now it’s time to get back onboard… It’s Ghostface Killah szn fam.
I could literally go on for days. Here is my best of Ghost playlist which is 9 hours long and crammed full of heaters from Tony Starks.
