Just read the news that Benny the Butcher and Harry Fraud have an EP coming out on March 19th. It will be the sequel of The Plugs I Met so you know it’s about to be major. Benny announced the EP The Plugs I Met 2 yesterday on IG.
Harry Fraud has been on a great run lately with Curren$y and Larry June and Benny’s album with Hit Boy, Burden of Proof , was fire and “3:30 in Houston” is an absolute banger. Dude was rapping from a wheelchair after he and his crew got shot up in a robbery attempt in a Walmart parking lot. This quote from the Joe Budden Podcast is legendary.
Griselda Records (GXFR) is on some Mixtape Weezy type of pace with their releases and that’s an understatement. It seems like every week we have a new release from Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, or Benny the Bitcher. And with Boldy James, Armani Caesar, and YN Billy rounding out the label roster you are guaranteed freshness around every corner. Daringer lurking in the cut supplying all of these emcees with dope beats for days as their in-house producer. This whole squad is dope and it’s been great watching their run from the sidelines.
Harry Fraud has been making beats for years and when you hear that “La Musica De Harry Fraud” drop you know you’re in for something serious. I first caught wind of Harry Fraud on his 2010 songs with Action Bronson, “Jar of Drugs” and “Muslim Wedding.” But when “Bird on a Wire” dropped with Bronson and Riff Raff? Damn…. Timeless cut right here. Had to be the most classic video shoot of all time which I’ve included below. Harry Fraud stays as active as the Griselda cats and his albums with Curren$y, Larry June, and Jim Jones have all been nice. I can always count on Harry to lace some wavey beats that sound perfect when you’re on some coastal vibes on a weekend afternoon.
So now we got Benny the Butcher and Harry Fraud linking up on an EP and it drops in a few weeks. I know I’m not the only one amped up on this one. To build hype for this release, I’ve made a playlist containing some of my favorite Benny the Butcher, Harry Fraud, and Griselda tracks. Once the EP drops I will slot those slappers right in here as well.
